Most of us involved with managing custodial services only have time to think about today, because we’re constantly putting out fires. How can we cover for today’s call-offs? We need more window cleaner — can you order a case? Janitor University gives attendees the tools to look beyond today’s to-do list, providing effective strategies to build a solid foundation for a custodial department that enables us to look further down the road and plan for the years ahead. At Janitor University, it’s not about where you are, but where you want to go.
In addition to the formal study of new techniques, Janitor University develops leaders through intensive workshops that provide gives attendees an opportunity to reflect how they’re currently maintaining their facilities and begin to understand issues with the “we’ve always done it that way” approach. With guidance from instructors, participants will challenge deeply rooted assumptions and start to identify limitations of their current methods. Attendees are then introduced to new concepts and have the opportunity to test them in real-life scenarios. This provides an opportunity for their confidence to grow along with their skillsets.
With its special features and unique strengths, Janitor University offers comprehensive preparation for executive positions in large cleaning organizations not possible elsewhere. Over the 25 years that we’ve conducted this training, we’ve found that the participants in Janitor University are one of the program’s greatest strengths. Each class consists of an outstanding group of experienced managers of varied backgrounds who work in the upper levels of established organizations.
